Jetengine is now compatible with Gutenberg Editor. However, its addon Trim string callback seems not yet ready for Gutenberg.

What Jetengine Trim String Callback addon does?

The add-on allows you to trim your text length according to the number you set in the Dynamic Field widget. In Elementor editor, you will be able to key in the string length and the addon will automatically trim and hide the exceeded text.

So, what is the problem?

If you are creating your listing grid with Gutenberg Editor, you probably will spend hours to find out where to set the string length and Yes, there is no input field for that. I have reported the bug to Crocoblock team 5 weeks ago and yet they have no fix for that bug in their update. Come on, it is just a Tiny bug right? Do you really need months to fix it?

Any Alternative or Work Around?

Sure. You can use Javascript to trim the text length, but for people like me who don’t know Javascript, it is really confusing and reluctant to work on this way. After thousands of years of searching, I found an easy solution for that.

By using CSS line-clamp, you can set how many lines you want the paragraph to show.

/** Post Title Block **/
.wp-block-post-tile a{
display: -webkit-box;
-webkit-box-orient: vertical;
-webkit-line-clamp: 3; /**this is where you set how many lines you want the text or paragraph to show**/
text-overflow: ellipsis;
overflow: hidden;
